“It’s Like a Comic Book Convention for PBS KIDS”

What child doesn't love PBS KIDS shows and characters?! Come out to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to share and enjoy everything your family loves about PBS KIDS --- live character meet-n-greets, show-themed activities, live music, children's art, and more!

GET FURRY HUGS
At WGBY Kids Fan Day, children get to meet (and hug!) some of their favorite characters. This year, PBS KIDS visitors include:
* Curious George
* Daniel Tiger from Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
* Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat from the Springfield Museums

PLUS! Dress up in PBS KIDS-inspired costume and join a Costume Parade. Any child in costume can get a free photo courtesy of Mirror Mirror Interactive Photobooth.

DANCE & SING
PBS Kids-inspired songs in Spanish and English from Jose Gonzalez of Jose Gonzalez and Criollo Clasico *AND* special performances from Community Music School of Springfield and the UMass Worcester Jazz Ensemble.

EXPLORE PICTURE BOOKS
See original drawings from some of the best storytellers in children's literature. Odyssey Bookshop and R. Michelson Galleries present children's literature and illustrations.

Plus, meet local children’s writer Lisa Yee of the DC Super Hero Girls middle grade novel series, Harley Quinn at Super Hero High, and American Girl's Girl of the Year books.

BE CREATIVE
PBS Kids show-themed stations are set up throughout the venue. Each station is hosted by an education-focused community or cultural partner. So much to do!

Along with WGBY and WGBY Kids, other participating organizations include 94.7 WMAS - Springfield, MA, Cartamundi USA, Cartamundi East Longmeadow, CLAD Lab at Amherst College, Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association, Springfield City Library, Springfield College Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA), Springfield Education Association, Springfield Museums, UMass Amherst Laboratory of Medical Zoology, UMass Center at Springfield's Healthy Development Initiative, and the ZOO in Forest Park and Education Center.
