"Seussical - The Musical" in Springfield

The Unity House Players will present “Seussical the Musical” at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Greater Springfield.

Friday and Saturday night shows beginning at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinee at 2 p.m.

The show brings to life the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss, featuring favorite characters such as Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, the Cat in the Hat, and the wonderful Whos! The story follows Horton who must protect his friends, the Whos, in their too small to see world. Horton faces ridicule, a trial, and kidnapping from those who don’t believe what they can’t see. The powers of loyalty, community, and acceptance prove triumphant in this family friendly adventure.

The Unity House Player’s performances will be directed by Becca Coolong with musical direction by Elisabeth Weber. It will feature a talented multi-generational cast led by Matt Braddak as Horton and Erin Dugan as Gertrude McFuzz.

General admission is $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors. Food and refreshments will be available before the show and during intermission.

The shows will be held at the society, 245 Porter Lake Drive, Springfield. Doors for the show will open at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday matinees.
