It’s snow much fun here at the Connecticut Science Center! Stay warm while enjoying one of the best winter activities; skating!

No skates are required for this rink, just wear your coziest pair of socks to slide around in.

This is great for both the young and the young at heart.

The Sock Skating Rink will be open through President’s Day and is included with the purchase of General Admission or a Connecticut Science Center Membership.

Butterfly Winter Wonderland
It is always a special experience inside our Butterfly Encounter, but we have worked our magic to transform it into a Winter Wonderland for the holiday season. Warm-up inside this tropical paradise and enjoy the spirit of the season as the blue and white decorations make the experience even more magical than the last time. To add to the excitement, we’re introducing new species of magnificent butterflies and beautiful plants.

The chrysalises will arrive at the end of November and begin emerging into butterflies early in December. Stay tuned on Facebook and Instagram for updates on when you can see our new species during your visit.​ Entrance to the Butterfly Encounter requires a separate ticket purchase, General Admission is required.
