Hope for Kids is already seeing God work in many families through the simplicity of showing up on doorsteps with bags of essential items and praying with families through screen doors. Now they need our help to keep the Bags of Hope ministry going. Here is what they have to say:
There are four steps that go into Bags of Hope: funding, shopping and supply drop-off, packing bags and delivery. We are so thankful for those of you who have partnered with us for step one, but we'd love to bring you in on other steps as well. Here's the breakdown:
S T E P O N E : funding
As monetary donations come in for Bags of Hope supplies, we have been shopping, packing and delivering as soon as possible! This is a huge part of making this project happen. If the Lord leads you to help in this way, you can visit our donate page and specify "Bags of Hope" in your donation.
S T E P T W O : shopping & supply drop-off
We are looking for shoppers! With groceries in high demand everywhere and limits on customer numbers, our staff currently doesn't have the time to stand in lines and conquer supply lists. If you would be willing to stand in lines, shop for supplies on the Bags of Hope list on our behalf and deliver supplies to the Den (40 Front Street, Indian Orchard), please let us know. You can call/text (413) 566-6291 - please let us if you would like to shop once or on an ongoing basis as donations come in. This is a big task for just a couple of people, but teamwork makes the dream work!
S T E P T H R E E : packing bags
Each Bag of Hope contains groceries, games or coloring pages, and a few printouts for families. If you are local and would like to volunteer at the Den (with distancing from any other volunteers or staff who are there) to put together supplies that have been dropped off and compile bags for delivery, let us know! This would be a huge help. View the supply list here.
S T E P F O U R : deliveries
The most meaningful step and the aim of Bags of Hope is connecting with our families and showing them God's love, close-up and personal, even as we're apart. This has been a powerful opportunity to pray with families and connect them to our ministry-we are praying that the impact of this initiative reaches far past quarantine! Our staff is present for all deliveries.
We are praying that Bags of Hope may be the answer for any of you who have been praying for a safe way to invest in our community and show God's love in a tangible way during this time. Please also continue to pray for our kids: for provision, safety, and supernatural peace. God has a plan and we are in this together!
