Free Public Meals for Kids and Food Bank info

AGAWAM:

FREE Grab and Go lunches available to all youth from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., inside the main entrance of Agawam Junior High School, 1305 Springfield St., Feeding Hills. Through the end of March any elementary, middle school or junior high student can received a FREE kid smoothie, Monday - Friday 6 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., Sunday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Nutrition First, 333 Walnut St. Ext., Agawam. 

CHICOPEE:

Although schools are canceled, children in Chicopee can still get their school lunches.

The Chicopee Public School’s Food Service Department will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all children under the age of 18. Schools will offer a grab and go style meal service. Each student will be given lunch as well as breakfast for the next day. 

Grab and go meals are set up at 13 of Chicopee's schools.

The meals are available from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

The meals will be pre-made and package in brown bags and set up on tables outside of each school.

HOLYOKE:

Holyoke school-aged students will be able to pick up FREE breakfast and lunch at the front doors of the following schools, Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Donahue, Holyoke High School North, Kelly, Lawrence and Sullivan.

SPRINGFIELD:

Breakfast and lunch meals on the go are available Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., until school resumes.

Grab-n-Go meals will be available at Bowles, Chestnut Middle School, Commerce, Dorman, Glickman, Indian Orchard, Kensington, Liberty, Lincoln, Rebecca Johnson, South End, Talmage, Warner and Washington.

As an added service, Saturday and Sunday meals will be provided on Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at all of the meal sites in Springfield. Please bring  reusable bag to carry your weekend meals with you. 

SOUTHWICK:

FREE Grab and go meals available from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. weekdays at the main entrance of Powder Mill School, 94 Powder Mill Road, Southwick and at the Granville Town Hall, 707 Main Road, Granville, beginning March 18. If you'd like to participate, please see link to complete survey so the program can maximize resources. 

WESTFIELD

FREE grab and go dinner meals for youth ages 2-18 available each weekday at five locations throughout the city: Powdermill Village Apartments from 5-6 p.m.; Edgewood Apartments from 5-6 p.m.; Colonial Pine Acres from 5-6 p.m.; Franklin Ave. Elementary School from 5-6 p.m., Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield from 4:30-6 p.m.

FREE grab and go lunches available to all youth under age 18, each weekday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., pickup at Abner Gibbs Elementary School, 50 West Silver St., OR Franklin Ave. Elementary School, 22 Franlkin Ave., CHILDREN MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE A LUNCH. 

 

Food Bank

Although Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam is closed for in-person services and events, in accordance with Gov. Baker’s ban on gatherings of more than 25 people, we wanted to let you know that our Food Bank remains open, serving families in our communities who are in need.  The hours of the Food Bank are:  Monday & Friday, 1-3 pm; first Tuesday of each month, 6-8 pm; and last Saturday of each month, 9-11 am.  The Food Bank is open to all, first time guests must bring a picture ID as well as a piece of mail with their current address on it.  Their information will be entered into the database and they can access the Food Bank once a month.
