Humanitarian Ice cream Fundraiser in Agawam

This next summer Agawam junior Abbie Waris will have the chance to participate in an exciting adventure with Humanitarian Experience for Youth (HEFY). She has the opportunity to travel to Mozambique to help build a school for the community. The people in this area are surrounded by poverty. She will work alongside the people of Maputo in an effort to help them better their lives. The group will be composed of about 19 youth and 4 chaperones and they will work in partnership with local representatives.
This is not a luxury trip; She will be working hard but she is excited about the opportunity to share her time, talents and energy with others. She also expects to learn a lot about the culture and herself as she works alongside members of the community.
Each person going has to raise their own money for their trip which helps cover the cost of the building supplies. The trip costs 3,300 so she is having this fundraiser in order to help raise money for her trip. Please come and have fun with her and others while you eat ice cream and enjoy a DJ. So please join us Saturday September 14th at 6pm.
