Join Stacey Schmeidel for her presentation, My Summer In The Kingdom of Bears on Saturday, April 27 at 2:00pm. Presentation will take place in the museum theater. Seating is limited, please call the museum to make reservations. Admission is free.
Stacey Schmeidel spent 6 weeks last summer volunteering with the National Park Service at Katmai National Park in Alaska, one of the best places to see bears in the wild. Hear about her experiences and what bears can teach us about motherhood, workplace behavior and resilience, among other things.
Stacey became a volunteer camera operator for explore.org, operating the camera for #bearcam, as well as Bison Cam, Africa Cam and others. She fell in love with the bears and their remarkable stories and now speaks about her experience, hoping to generate understanding and support for bears, Katmai, and our National Parks.
